Art collective De Nieuwkomers (Bente de Bruin, Joy Heijnen and Zoë Sluijs) was a 3 year project that interwove ecology, everyday living and the artistic practice. This art collective lived together in anti-squating homes in rural ereas of the Netherlands. In these places they explored the intersection of gardening, hosting, community, art-making, cooking, caring, financing, collaboration by organising residencies, events and workshops. Finding out how life and art interweave and feed each other.
